Mayor Parker to speak at Constructure Members Meeting

Mayor Richard Parker

The final meeting of 2025 for leading construction member organisation, Constructure, will take place in Birmingham, 12 November. Hosted by Constructure member South & City College Birmingham, at their Bordesley Green site the meeting will begin with an opening address from West Midlands Combined Authority Mayor Richard Parker.

Attendees will hear about the projects being delivered in the region to address skills shortages, deliver the desired growth in infrastructure and the wider built environment and how a variety of initiatives aimed at engaging with specific groups such as NEETs is being facilitated. Further contributions to the event will come from Birmingham City Council, and the NHBC who will provide an update on their Skills Hub project.

The regular format of the Constructure members meetings will be followed and this will provide a platform for those attending to take part in discussion and debate regarding key topics and current themes around skills and training in the sector. Along with the regional perspective this meeting will also provided attendees with an opportunity to discuss the recently published ‘Skills Vision 2025’ document. With contributions from active industry stakeholders, this strategic document shines a light on the work of organisations in their ambition to overcome and impact upon sector skills shortages.
