Constructure Skills Vision Document "Important and timely' - Mark Farmer

“The Skills Vision Report 2025 published recently by Constructure is an important and timely document that examines some of the key challenges faced by the construction sector today in addressing skills and workforce development. I was glad to be part of convening industry voices to contribute to its findings and also honoured to be invited to write the foreword.

The report looks to examine key issues from the perspective of a range of stakeholders and sets out both the challenges and opportunities the sector is currently wrestling with. Safeguarding and building future construction industry delivery capacity is a political high priority with significant policy evolution and additional funding being made available to address various issues.

This report underlines that it is critical that these changes should be made in close collaboration with industry and that the changes should focus on creating a demand led system, improving industry capacity, capability and competency so we are adequately prepared for future growth. This mission also aligns with the objectives of the Construction Skills Mission Board that I am part of so is additive to the broader debate. Any organisation seeking to understand more about the intricacies of the skills landscape in the sector should get hold of a copy of this important work”
